Fishing

• To fish for coarse fish, the fishing season runs from 16th June to the 16th March, the remaining 3 months are what is known as the close season when it is illegal to fish.
  You will need a rod licence from the Environment Agency, which costs £24.00 (£5.00 for juniors) and can be bought online at http://www.environment-agency.gov.uk/subjects/fish/399730/?lang=_e  by ringing 0870 1662 662, or going to any Post Office.
  You will also need a license for the local fishing club waters in which you need to fish, these can be obtained from local fishing tackle shops, as well as any further information you may require about local waters.
  The information about rod licenses and club licenses is for freshwater rivers and drains, you do not need a license to fish in salt water, that means rivers that are tidal, and the sea.You can take fish home from the sea, but not fresh water fish, they must be returned alive.
